The Baltics

“In search of Eden”, I came to Estonia in 2014 for a press trip, visiting the country’s Nationalparks and EDEN-Destinations. It was my first encounter with the Habjaas, the local variety of the dugout-canoes, that in 2020 became part of the UNESCO World Heritage of living traditions. The slow floating through the wide and rich landscape turned into a hobby and on a handful of official press trips and private tours, I zig-zagged most of the three countries and made friends, who taught me about local birding, sauna culture, the local music scene and the hidden spots of the historic and modern cities.
